Welcome Back to School Graphic
Happy End of August!

We have some great things happening as we move into the semester. Please check our newsletter, the PTA newsletter, and your student's teacher's newsletter for important dates such as field trips, state progress monitoring testing, family events, performances, and more!

This week we have a few events:
Monday - Hurricane's Spirit Night (4PM-7PM)
Tuesday - PTA Board Meeting and General Meeting (6:30PM)
Wednesday - Curriculum night for grades 1-5 is Wednesday, September 2. We will have 2 identical sessions (5:30PM and 6:15PM) so you can visit your children's teachers and learn about their class and curriculum this year.

Next week begins PTA's Papa John's Fundraiser. Information will be going home with your child.

Attendance is important! Parents, we want your children here at school. Our teachers cover new information every day. A single day out when your child is not sick puts them behind. New this year - parent notes will only excuse a total of 10 days of absences. In addition, please refrain from checking your child out early whenever possible. Even an hour or two of lost learning adds up over the course of a school year. Teachers follow a set schedule, so students who leave early often end up missing the same subject, creating an academic gap. Please try to schedule appointments around school time whenever possible. We appreciate your support.

We are still missing several Heath Services forms on Skyward. These consents need to be renewed every year and allow us to give your child care in the clinic (Band-Aids, ice). Without this consent, we cannot give your child a Band-Aid if they are injured. Please go onto Skyward and fill out the forms for this school year.

Our first SAC meeting will be on 9/9/2026. We are looking for a few new candidates, if you are interested, please click on the link below.

Please ensure you have access to Skyward and ParentSquare. ParentSquare is our communication App and Skyward is our Gradebook. Both of these applications will keep you plugged into our school and your child's progress throughout the year.

Arrival and Dismissal Procedure Reminders

Morning Drop Off begins at 8:05AM - there is no student supervision before this time. For their safety, please wait until 8:05AM to drop students off.

Parents, please be alert on the car line in order to help keep our students and staff safe.

Please see the CAR LINE MAP for information about the 2 car lines for arrival and dismissal.

Follow staff directions and stay off your cell phones.

Stay in your car while in car line.

Do not park in the parking spots and walk through the car line to drop off or pick up your child.

Pull all the way up the ramp when it is your turn in order to make enough room for all cars. Do not leave empty space between cars. For safety, your car will not be filled until it is where staff directed it.

There is no parking in the primary line handicapped parking spaces unless you are a PreK ESE parent or have been directed to do so by a staff member.

And finally, please work with your children on how to buckle/unbuckle themselves so they can get out the car without assistance and get themselves in and safe for the car ride home.

We will be starting our beginning of the year assessments in August and September.

Date for assessments will be provided via this newsletter and your child's teacher.

Please see the information linked below about the test and testing policies/procedures from SCPS and the Florida Department of Education.
