Book Fair Nov 6-13
Happy November Families!

We are so excited for our Lunch with a Loved One with our Book Fair.  The early RSVP has closed, but you are still welcome to join us.  If you did not RSVP, please plan on arriving a bit earlier to ensure you are able to enjoy the entire time with your child.

Lunch with a Loved One Reminders:
  • Arrive with enough time to sign in/pick up your nametag from the front office.
  • Lunch with a Loved One is during your child’s lunch and recess.  Students need to be returned to the designated spot (teacher-provided classroom, lunchroom, recess field, etc) by the end of recess/lunch.
  • Parents are only allowed to take their own child out of lunch for lunch with a loved one.  No friends are allowed to join without their parent.
  • Siblings who attend Bear Lake, but who have the event on a different day will not be allowed to leave instructional time to join a different grade level’s day.  We apologize for the inconvenience this causes, but we need to limit the number of students in the book fair at one time and minimize the disruption to the learning environment for the other classes.
  • Please find a bench or table outside to eat with your child.  Parents are not allowed in the cafeteria or on the recess fields.  Younger siblings are not allowed to join for recess or use the playground equipment.
  • You may consider bringing a blanket to sit on for a picnic. Seating is limited.
  • All student check-outs need to go through the front office.  Do not remove students from campus without checking them out first through the front office.
  • If you are checking out your child for the day, please return with your child to their classroom to get their belongings (if needed), then return to the front office to check them out.  Any siblings checking out will be called from the front office, as usual.  Families will be asked to wait outside the front office for siblings to minimize congestion and expedite checkouts. Note: We strongly discourage families from checking students out early as they will miss significant portions of their instructional day.

If you are unsure when your child's lunch and/or recess begins, please check out the listing here.  Please note that some grade levels go to recess before lunch.  Check both times to ensure you have the full 50 minutes to enjoy the book fair together.

Car Line Reminders: Please make sure you refrain from using your cell phone while in the car line.  Unfortunately, we have had several close calls with staff and students.  Safety is our #1 priority.  Please help us keep our students and staff safe at dismissal.

Clinic Consents: Parents, we still have over 300 students who cannot receive care in our clinic or from a staff member (teacher, PE coach, etc).  This includes ice, bandaids, etc.  The clinic consent must be completed every school year.  Please go onto Skyward and fill out the Clinic Consent form.

Please ensure you have access to Skyward and ParentSquare to receive the most up to date info.

Arrival and Dismissal Procedure Reminders

Morning Drop Off begins at 8:05AM - there is no student supervision before this time. For their safety, please wait until 8:05AM to drop students off.

Parents, please be alert on the car line in order to help keep our students and staff safe.

Please see the CAR LINE MAP for information about the 2 car lines for arrival and dismissal.

Follow staff directions and stay off your cell phones.

Stay in your car while in car line.

Do not park in the parking spots and walk through the car line to drop off or pick up your child.

Pull all the way up the ramp when it is your turn in order to make enough room for all cars. Do not leave empty space between cars. For safety, your car will not be filled until it is where staff directed it.

There is no parking in the primary line handicapped parking spaces unless you are a PreK ESE parent or have been directed to do so by a staff member.

And finally, please work with your children on how to buckle/unbuckle themselves so they can get out the car without assistance and get themselves in and safe for the car ride home.

FAST and STAR Assessments will be finished over the next week.

Please see the information linked below about the test and testing policies/procedures from SCPS and the Florida Department of Education.
